    Sudden Region trouble


    This in a new problem, but it is an irritating one nonetheless. I am an American stationed overseas with an Xbox Live account and up until recently had no issues purchasing movies or tv shows...then yesterday,I tried to purchase a movie, only to get hit
    with a region lock...WHAT?! Seriously? There were no issues with this until now...so I tried to switch the country to where I was-Japan-and try to purchase again, but no luck at all! This is not a good thing at all...What can be done about this?

    Is it all movies you're trying to purchase that are giving an issue? or only specific ones. There are some movies that are banned in certain countries for different reasons and can't be watched by regular means.

    Could possibly be a banned movie?

    Haven't really seen anything about why your movies would be region locked now though.

    Greetings,

    I know the feeling as I am an American overseas and ran into this issue.

    What I did was change not only my region on the Xbox but also my MS account itself to the country where I am and it works with no issues.

    The only other option is unfortunately purchasing a $ Gift Card direct from the USA and upload into your account for purchases.

    How nice is Japan!?! :)
    If your console is set to US, you need to purchase content from the US store and you shouldn't have any problems.
    If not, try to contact Xbox support, they should be able to help you easily https://beta.support.xbox.com/
