Sudden low fps and cpu usage in all games

It seems like you are experiencing sudden low FPS and CPU usage while playing games on your laptop. Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try:

1. Power settings: Ensure that your laptop is set to high-performance mode and not on power-saving mode. Sometimes, power-saving settings can limit the performance of your CPU and GPU.
   
2. Graphics card settings: Check your NVIDIA control panel settings and make sure the games are set to use the dedicated graphics card (NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 Ti) instead of the integrated graphics. You can usually access the control panel by right-clicking on your desktop.
   
3. Temperature monitoring: Monitor the temperature of your CPU and GPU while gaming. Overheating can lead to performance issues. Use software like MSI Afterburner or HWMonitor to check the temperatures and ensure that they are within safe limits. If the temperatures are too high, consider cleaning the laptop's cooling system or using a cooling pad.
   
4. Background processes: Even if you don't have any obvious background apps running, some processes may still be consuming system resources. Check the Task Manager (Ctrl+Shift+Esc) and close any unnecessary applications or processes that might be running in the background.
   
5. Windows updates: Make sure your Windows operating system is up to date with the latest updates and patches. Sometimes, outdated operating systems can cause compatibility issues with games.
   
6. Game settings: Verify that the in-game settings are optimized for performance. Lower graphics settings such as resolution, anti-aliasing, shadows, and textures can help improve FPS.
   
7. Reinstalling games: If the issue persists, try reinstalling the games that are experiencing low FPS. Sometimes, game files can become corrupted, leading to performance problems.

Please check for dust and overheating. Make sure your PC is clean and well-ventilated.

Followed by updating the system by clicking the Start button, then go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update > Check for updates.

And then update Bios. Kindly make sure your motherboard's BIOS is up to date. Visit the MSI website and download the latest BIOS version for your Z590 A Pro motherboard.

Next is to monitor temperatures. It is because overheating can cause throttling and performance drops.

One more important thing is to check power supply. Your power supply should be adequate for your components and is functioning properly.

Then check RAM. Your RAM needs to be properly seated and running at the correct speed. You can use tools like CPU-Z to check your RAM specifications.

Kindly check for Malware too. To do this kindly run a full system scan with your antivirus software to ensure there are no malware or viruses affecting your system.

1. All Drivers are up to date

2. Games were already at lowest settings when testing fps

3. Temps were stitting at a solid 70 c cpu and 40 c gpu

4. While gaming there was only 30% cpu usage and 5% gpu usage

Thanks, if you go to your laptop BIOS. Are you able to see your graphics card listed there?

May I know If you tried forcing to use the GPU?
Go to Windows Settings > System > Display > Graphics > select “Desktop app” and click on “Browse”
Once there add the .exe files for each game.
After that click on each one > options > select high performance > save
Restart your PC and try again.

By the way, how did you reinstalled windows?
Via settings?
