    Sudden Error when plugging in XBox Wireless Adapter for PC. Device Descriptor Request Failed?

    I've had my Xbox One wireless controller for almost two years. I have never owned any gaming console whatsoever, but the controller has performed beautifully on my laptop so far.

    However, one night I took a Netflix break from playing video games, then went out for like an hour, leaving the laptop on. When I came back the screen was turned off but the laptop hadn't gone to sleep or anything, just the screen had timed out. During all
    this time, my Xbox adapter was plugged in and eventually the controller turned itself off due to not being used.

    When I tried reconnecting my controller, it didn't work. I tried pairing it again, using the small round matching buttons on both the controller and the adapter. Nothing. Then I unplugged the adapter, plugged it in again, and I was greeted with the Unrecognized
    USB device
    error. I went to the Devices section in the settings and, under
    Other Devices, it said Unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed). I have tried, to no avail, the following options:

    - Uninstalling the driver, in Device Manager, under Unknown USB Device

    - Updating said driver. Windows had found some new updates which, upon installing, did nothing to help me with my issue

    - Running the Hardware Troubleshooter, again to no avail

    I am quite certain this error appeared out of nowhere and that it is also an issue with the adapter, since I have tried connecting it to my friend's laptop and she got the same error.

    :)

    When I try to plug my Xbox Controller into my PC via USB cable, it does not connect, and the computer displays an error message in the settings, " Unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed) - Driver Error.

    How do I fix this please?!

    XBOX One 무선 컨트롤러 PC 인식 오류 -[Translation - XBOX One wireless controller PC recognition error]

    I connected the XBOX ONE wireless controller to my Windows 10 laptop via USB connection, but it is not recognized.

    It vibrates when connected, and when you press the X button on the center of the pad, the button lights up, but it is not recognized.

    When I went into Device Manager,

    Unknown USB device (request device descriptor failed)

    in one's character

    'The device has stopped because this device has reported a problem. (Code 43)

    Request to USB device descriptor failed.'

    It says.

    + Drivers are up to date with the latest updates.

    How can I use the pad on my PC?

    Xbox Wireless Adapter - Code 43 - Device Descriptor Request Failed

    Hi, I hope you're doing great out there.

    I'm Wille, an Independent advisor and I am here to help you with your concern

    Error 43 usually occurs when one of the drivers controlling the device has notified the operating system that the device has failed in some way.

    Try to apply the following steps, apply each step, and test the result, if any of them does not work, skip to the next step:

    Step 1

    Disable airplane mode in Windowss.

    Step 2

    1. Simultaneously press the Windows + X keys;

    2. Click on the Device Manager option;

    3. Click on the arrow pointing to Network Adapters and Bluetooth;

    4. Right-click on it and click on Properties;

    5. Go to the Details tab and under Property select the GUID of the class:

    6. Write down the hexadecimal code that is displayed to you;

    7. Press the Windows flag key + R, type regedit and click Ok;

    8. Navigate to the log folder:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\<Device Key>

    9. On the right side where the arrow points, look for the values UpperFilter and LowerFilter and delete;

    10. If there are subfolders as in my image look for the same UpperFilter and LowerFilter values.

    11. Restart your PC and check if it works again.

    Step 3

    1. Press the Windows+X keys and click on Device Manager;

    2. Click on the arrow pointing to Network Adapters and Bluetooth;

    3. Right-click on the installed device and select the Properties option;

    4. Click the Details tab and under Property select Device Instance Path;

    5. Write down the generated code;

    6. Press the Windows flag key + R, type regedit and click Ok;

    7. Navigate to the log folder:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\USB

    8. Locate the folder that has links to the device code you collected;

    For example: USB\VID_054C&PID_0268...

    9. Expand the folder corresponding to the ID of step 8;

    10. Click on the Device Parameters key and in the details of the panel on the right look for the value EnhancedPowerManagementEnabled;

    11. Double click on it and change the value to 0;

    If you don't find the EnhancedPowerManagementEnabled value, you'll need to create it:

    Right-click on the right-hand pane of the Device Parameters key and select New > DWORD (32-bit) Value, name it EnhancedPowerManagementEnabled and set the value 0 to Base > Hexadecimal.

    Step 4

    Rebuild your system files. You can follow Paul's article guidelines:

    https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/for...

    Step 5

    Test with another bluetooth adapter.

    I myself use an Orico Bluetooth 5.0 Adapter. It has an extremely low price on the market. It Works very well!

    Perhaps the adapter you have is already working fine.

    I made sure to detail each step for you.

    Hoping that everything works out for the best.

    I hope I helped you. Hugs!
