Subtitles won't turn off when playing DVDs in Xbox 360

I am experiencing problems with subtitles and DVDs played in the Xbox 360 system. I have turned off the cc setting on Xbox as well as trying turning off the cc in my TV set - its a Samsung and has no option for this. I have read posts in other forums, offering
just the previous two solutions. Any new solutions?

Where is the turn off subtitles button on Sonic Forces??

Since Sonic Forces has been released my issue is that I have no idea where I could turn off the subtitles. Usually on games you can turn off the subtitles. I was playing Sonic forces with other fellow gamers. Although my fellow gamers were playing on PC
and PS4 and they were able to turn off the subtitles. So how can I turn off the subtitles on the game, on xbox? (Note: I have asked this question on the Sonic Forces Forums and Community but no response yet)

I've just started having a problem when playing dvds, when I stop the dvd the xbox will not go back to the dashboard screen the way it used to, I have to turn off the console and turn it on again.



I have an XBox 360 not slim, can anyone help please.

Most DVD's will have an option to show or not show subtitles in their menu. Try searching the menu options for the ability to turn off the subtitles.

 

This topic was an issue over the past summer and never was resolved. The current suggestions were to turn off closed-captioning from the System settings on the device, as well as to try and turn of closed captioning on the TV - my TV has no such setting.
I also tried the above suggestion from onyx62is, but regardless of what setting I place from the DVD options - English, frencg, Spanish, or Off the subtitles continue in English. I would think it a code issue from a previous update, as I don't think it was
an issue when I purchased the device in the winter of 2012. Any help from Xbox?
