Subscription upgrade/downgrade

How can i change my subscription from a 3 month to a 12 month on Xbox? I am so irritated that their site does not offer this as an option

http://account.microsoft.com/services will be where you want to go. Select manage under your subscription, go to change, then select switch plan.

I'm pretty sure this requires your billing period to start over, and doesn't pro-rate how far you are into your current 3-month period. I could be wrong though.

Services.

You might need to check your Subscriptions first,

and deciding how it may deduct your billing information.

If you have it on recurring billing it's much cheaper to buy a digital code for 12 months and apply that.
