Subscribed to Xbox Live Gold - Access for kids

Thanks for coming to the forums. We understand have a question on Xbox live gold subscription. Which account did you purchase the subscription on? If your sons it should give access. If you purchased on your account, you need to set you profile as

home console. This will allow your son to use the subscription and any games that are on your account.

You need to log in with the account that has gold on your sons Xbox, and make the console the home Xbox. Instructions here

when you purchase a free "Games With Gold" game on xbox 360, you get the license permanently, even if your xbox live gold subscription expires.

on xbox one, you can also access all of your free purchased Games With Gold (they are all Backwards Compatible), however you need to have an active xbox live gold subscription to be able to play them.

if you are currently not subscribed to a gold account, then all you would have to do is re-subscribe and you will have access to any of the Games With Gold games you have previously purchased.

Which features are you not able to access with your trial? Trials give you access to online multiplayer in games, but is not recognized as a full Xbox Live Gold subscription. If you would like to have access to a full Xbox Live Gold subscription, you would
need to subscribe through your Microsoft Account or acquire a pre-paid Xbox Live Gold code.
