Stupid Problems...

I do not need a thread for myself. I was relating information that I experienced. In my opinion, the problem lies with Comcast not his hardware. If you have another solution please present it.

The only way to check if the problem is with Comcast is to plug straight into the modem and bypass the router like I mentioned above , if it works fine while plugged into the modem , then it isn't a fault with Comcast or the Xbox...

I have plugged the modem straight up to the PC while COMCAST people were here installing new lines from the yard to the house and in the house to the cable modem. The tech kept adding these little connection pieces, from what he said, to make the connection
better. While these connectors were connected, my modem kept restarting itself every other minute. When I asked the tech, what were those things, he explained and I told him, those connection pieces are making it worse. He removed all of them. While he was
here and only the PC was hard wired to the modem, my internet went in and out for about an hr, Then the tech, said he had to go and that my cable modem is out dated and might need a firmware update. After he left, I had no internet for 1 day. I just got the
modem in July 2015. Internet was out for about a day.

As per my router... For the DLink DIR-655. What would be a better upgrade? Since this one might only work at minimal at best. I am pretty sure this a fighting thing between me and my internet provider. I was just hoping not any problems with my Ones and
internet equipment and if anyone else had been having the same issues.

 

I bought a one a couple months ago. I have steadily had slow performance issues with disc games on and off line. It's been getting worse the longer I have the system. It continues to throw the error coded petaling too long. And struggles more than ever to
load any game at all now. P.s. I just got fallout4! Works fine streaming tv. What can I do? I'm getting to the point of just trading it in for a PS 4!

 

Get what ever you want , but you should check the ps4 support forums also , just as many if not more threads over there with pretty much the same problems...

 

I have a new Netgear R7000 and have the same issue. Happened this morning as a matter of fact. I had my iPhone and iPad running fine. Turned on my Xbox, tried connecting to Elder Scrolls Online and boom, network connection lost. Restarted and all was fine.

 

if your iPhone and ipad "lose network connection" they reacquire it so fast you may not even notice , if you xbox loses it , it dosent try and reacquire it unless you tell it to...

 

@Bimnog, this problem isn't that simple. Simply reconnecting doesn't always work. Most of the time you will be missing features such as Community, items in the Store, and ads on the dashboard. You either have to restart the Xbox or restart the modem. The
fact that the OP and I have different hardware with the same problem excludes the hardware in my opinion. The one common thing we share is the same ISP which is Comcast.

 

I don't disagree , a simple test would be to bypass the router and plug straight into the modem , if it still does it , its probably them if it works while plugged into only the modem , it isn't them...
