Stuck unable to purchase gamertag... Help!

We are stuck in a frustrating loop at the moment... My son loves Minecraft but wants to change his gamertag again.

While logged into his Xbox account, we requested his gamer tag change.
The notification was that it would cost $14.99 NZD and he must ask my permission.

He did this and earned the money. So, back in the family account (next day), I added $15NZD to his xbox account, thinking we can now make this purchase.

So we went back to his xbox account and requested gamertag change, however this time when it tells him to ask my permission it lists the price in USD, not NZD. How did that happen??

Now, back in the family account logged in as me again, when I click 'allow', it AGAIN says I have to add money to his account - I already did this!!!! To make things worse, USD $9.99 is NZD $15.56 and the smallest increment for me to add is $10 NZD.

I have tried finding out what region his account is listed in, but can only find a link to 'change region' which won't tell me what region he IS in without accepting terms and conditions that advise funds cannot be transferred between regions.

I have no idea what to do next.

Update - I just closed some extra windows and tried again.

This time, it required my son to ask my permission again.

So I went back to my account, opened notifications, and this time it advised me the price was GBP 7.99

I can't understand why it keeps switching currency!

street number & street

suburb

city

country

postcode

The only thing I can think of is that in our street address it does say Ave rather than 'Avenue' - could that be the problem?

That shouldn't be a problem but as another resolution, is there a way for you to add a credit card or a debit card to buy the Gamertag change?

The Microsoft balance will still be there and he will be use it in buying games and other items.

The locale may have been changed, were you able to check again the locale on the bottom left part as per the screenshot I first sent?
