Stuck resolution on Forza Horizon 3

My newer dell laptop has an nvidia graphics setup on it. It has a graphics lock in the setup that maximizes every game and at first i didnt know that and i had very similar issues. If you are using nvidias (or something similar) program on there for graphics
settings, that may be causing the issue. Check and see about that and then disable it. I found once that was done, i was easily able to play and it adjusted according to the specs on the game and let me adjust it in game. Its worth a shot to check out if
you have those graphic settings outside of the game.

do you run the game in full screen or in windowed mode

if your run the game in windowed mode the resolution will be locked to the monitor set resolution.

some game as a feature that allow you to upscale or downscale the game resolution this feature (usually called scaling) would allow you to scale the game rendering resolution

if its not present the solution would be to

a. change the monitor resolution prior of launching the game

or

b. set the game in full screen mode (in the game video setting) then you should be able to set its resolution

Can you get in long enough to get to the settings menu and change the resolution?

from the comparison, ive also seen that Forza Horizon 4 Photo mode displays better quality photos then Horizon 3, any image can have a resolution change making them pixalized, as Horizon 3 takes the image and renders at 720p, where as Horizon 4 takes the
image at 1080p and maintains its ratio for an HD Textured Image.
