Stuck in Rise Of The Tomb Raider

Me and a friend are stuck at this part of the game:

Abandoned Mines - Rise of the Tomb Raider Wiki Guide - IGN

We're about 20% through the game. I was playing Lara defending herself from loads of trinity men in one section of the Abandoned Mines part of the game. The bit where you have ropes going away from the end of that area in all different directions and you
have to try and pull some big doors open somehow.

Well I had nearly killed all the trinity men but my friend Brian said to proceed up a ladder and across the rope to try and get away from the trinity men. I did that and traversed the rope then died. When I came back to the save point I think that Lara should
have been fighting the Trinity Men again but there was no-one there and all the ropes from that area were gone apart from one that was far off to the left in the distance. Me and my friend couldn't get to the next part of the game as there was no ropes to
traverse so is this a big error in the game or what? I want to continue the game but how do we now????

sounds like the game did glitch there so it might not be possible to continue from that save

but you do have another one if you go into the main menu and load game, press both triggers and you will have a backup save and you can load that, and hopefully you wont lose too much progress

 

Have you tried watching a walkthrough video to check you've not missed something? I can't quite picture which bit you mean as there are quite a lot of things that happen around there and you return to the same part at one point. It's possible that you've
got to solve a puzzle too. Here's one which would tell you one way or the other if you're stuck:

Thanks liamcurtis1718 you saved the day. I tried your method and it worked. I was still in the Abandoned Mines section of the game and am now up to where I was before with my friend before we got ***. I'll wait till my friend comes round again and we'll
try that section again properly.
