Stuck as Franklin while Michael and Trevor are laying low

Alright, I'm sure some people here have seen posts about this glitch before. But mine seems to differ from the others I've seen, and I can't get out of it. Here's the rundown:

- After kidnapping...I forgot who's wife...Michael and Trevor are laying low.

- I've completed all available quests for Franklin, I have no current active mission. They're all done as far as I can tell.

- There is NO "M" quest marker at Michael's house, nor does one appear when I get in a cab, regardless of where I've called the cab from.

- I have successfully called both Michael and Trevor to hang out, but once the hang out is done, they're still "laying low"

- I have reloaded both the game and my save multiple times.

- I have been just wandering around doing random junk as Franklin for several in game days, several real world hours.

I have no idea what to do to get things moving again, and I'm hoping somebody can help me out, thanks!

Question About Random Encounters

Are you playing as Michael, Franklin or Trevor when you encounter this event?

 

Are you able to select Trevor to play as?

 

No, I can't play as Michael or Trevor.

 

Unfortunately, this seems to be a known issue that pops up occasionally, I've seen people asking about it on several different forums:

I've seen some people say they got past it by taking several cab rides and skipping to the destination. Other than that, maybe reload an earlier save from before Caida Libre?

 

Unfortunately, all the other forum posts I've seen talking about skipping in a cab ride require a mission marker that I don't have. And I also don't have a save before it happened, so unless there's another fix, I'm ***.

 

Ah, that sucks man. Try setting a waypoint at Michael's house and then skip there in a taxi as Franklin. Look for a yellow circle at the front door that starts the next mission.

 

There is one method you can try, but it might be unethical:

1) download a GTA V Save Editor

2) Modify the missions progress section so that you have done the first mission after Caida Libre

3) OR modify the mission progress section so that the next mission after Caida Libre is available. For some reason, it might just be that simple.

You'd think after several years, we'd be advanced enough to not have problems like this arise in software, right? Well, sadly, software is made by flawed beings: humans, and because of that, we will ALWAYS have problems with software. It really is a shame
that methods such as the one I suggested could be the only solution to a problem so small and insignificant if it weren't for the fact that software and technology will always have its problems. /rant
