    Streaming Xbox Outside of Home Network


    Up until a month ago I used to be able to connect to my xbox one from my work network by inputting my public IP in find a device setting on the xbox one app. My xbox one is port forwarded, and is DMZ. However for some reason lately I can not locate my
    xbox I am was wondering if there was a recent microsoft update either to my xbox or windows 10 which now does not allow this feature?

    Maybe the work router have it updated with a firmware more powerful and safer than before. So I couldn't tell you how to make it back as before...

    It's highly likey that you have NO idea what you're talking about! "As far as I'm aware", who are you? Did you design the Xbox One? Are you suggesting that any product that is used other than the way it was designed or intened should be disallowed, or
    just the ones you didn't know about? Maybe we should get rid of ALL modifications of any kind! Cars, Phones, Computers, Drugs (some of the most helpful drugs ever made were not designed or intented for their appliable use). You're a genius!!!!

    It's highly likely that they patched out this particular exploit, as far as I'm aware, game streaming was always designed and intended to be used for devices that were on the same home network.

    I have discovered that the latest Xbox One 10.0.17763.4088 (released 3/5/19) has patched the Xbox so that it will ONLY stream to PC's that are on the same local network.

    I have no idea why Microsoft decided to patch this, they have provided no public explanation that I can find. It was not even mentioned in the changelog. I would really like to know why they patched this feature, I will not be buying the next Xbox if it
    does not allow streaming out of network. This was an important feature for me because I am away from home a lot.
