    Streaming purchased movies & tv on other devices?!


    I purchase the majority of my movies through the Xbox One Movies and T.V. option because they are usually cheaper than buying a physical copy in a store. So my question is, why isn’t there an app that can stream/purchase movies on through the same portal
    and be able to watch them on a smartphone or tablet or laptop, so on and so forth? I know VUDU is that exact app, but I’ve purchased movies off there before, but I do not like the layout so I refuse to use it. Please discuss and I know there are many of you
    out there that wonder the same thing.

    Download a TV Series purchased on Xbox One

    I have purchased (not rented) a TV Series using Movies & TV app on my Xbox One. I am located in Australia and the TV Series is Homeland Series 5. I have experienced very poor performance in streaming the product and so I've been looking to download it
    before viewing. This does not appear to be possible in spite of documentation suggesting otherwise. Most recent update on my Xbox loaded on 8 Jan 2016.

    Can someone definitively advise if it is possible to download Movies & TV product purchased on Xbox One to the device. If it is, please let me know how.

    Terrible Playback & Inability to Download in Movies & TV App

    I'm really tired of the terrible streaming quality in the Movies & TV app. In fact, I just don't understand why it's so terrible. Netflix plays great, Amazon Prime plays great my NAT is open, all of my online games play great, but
    whenever I play a movie from Movies & TV, the quality is so terrible that it is unwatchable. If this streaming service is going to be so terrible, I either need the ability to download to my XBox One, or I want a refund for every movie I've purchased. It's
    absolutely unacceptable.

    Hi Charles you can watch movies with the Microsoft Movies and TV app on your device. Also you can stream media by casting it to a device.

    Hi again. I wish you could explain to me how to do this. My TV displays our cable on HDMI1. We have our Google Chromecast device connected to HDMI2. When we want to stream content from our phones or laptops, we switch the TV to HDMI2, and the streaming apps connect automatically. When I try to stream this Microsoft movie (Sorcerer, 1977) to the Chromecast on HDMI2, it says it can't connect. Likewise, just trying to cast it to the TV via HDMI1 does not connect, either. The only other ports available are InputAV1 and InputComponent, neither of which have a device connected, but the movie will not connect or cast to either of those. Please help me to be able to cast this movie from my Surface laptop to my Chromecast (in HDMI2 port on Samsung Smart TV). Also, is there any way I can access the movie on my Samsung S21 smart phone?

    If you are using Microsoft Movies and TV it is not compatible with Chromecast as a workaround you can mirror your computer to your tv that should work, for Samsung smart phones I will recommend to contact their support site for more information, curently there is no app for android to watch them.

    I've learned that this particular movie (Sorcerer, 1977) is distributed by Paramount and thus won't play on Movies Anywhere because MA doesn't have a contractual agreement with Paramount.

    Therefore, what I really need your help with is how to cast this movie from my Microsoft Surface laptop's Movies & TV app. When I try to cast this movie, it simply will not connect to either the Samsung TV or the Google Chromecast. That's what I need help with. Is there any way I can speak with you on the phone about this? Or otherwise, is there any way you can help me?

    Rent On Xbox One - Then Download Rental On Windows 10 From the Microsoft Store

    As noted in your other thread, you can only watch it on other devices if you did a streaming rental. If you chose to download it onto a device, it's only playable on that device. Should be noted to clarify that you cannot download any Microsoft Movies
    & TV content onto an Xbox One console.
