Stream xbox one to laptop through wifi without internet connection

Remote play requires an internet connection for authentication. The xbox must be able to reach the internet.

I don't think it's possible to display the picture from the Xbox onto your laptop simply by just plugging in the HDMI into the laptop. It should be a compatible TV or computer monitor.

However, it is possible to stream your games to the laptop through the Xbox App as long as both are connected to the same home network.

no, the problem is I can't connect them to the same network, I moved to my college dorm and my laptop is on the wifi, but my Xbox isn't and I can't change the settings because I don't have any display. Is there a way I can change my Xbox settings through the
app if they're not on the same wifi? Or possibly if I buy the surface dock could I display my Xbox to my laptop in a wired connection through that?

Sorry for the delay in replying, had the grandkids for the weekend, not 100% sure what you was referring to but the tv does access the internet via wifi, as does the laptop, the xbox is connected via ethernet cat6 or cat7 can't remember, they can all access
the internet independently and while the tv is turned on and being used I can stream my xbox to my laptop, but if the tv is turned off or goes into standby, I get a network quality warning on the laptop and a message saying iv been disconnected from the xbox,
my hdmi cable from the xbox to the tv has built in ethernet "I think" but that shouldn't stop the xbox streaming to my laptop via wifi or am I missing something.

The best way to do so, would be to share your internet connection through your ipad or laptop. Do you have an xbox slim, with built in wifi? In that case the easiest would be to share through ipad, by going to settings and share internet. Take a note of
the password, look up the wireless internet on the xbox, and type in network name and password. Otherwise you would have to connect your laptop through wifi, and make a network bridge to your xbox via an ethernet cable. Think you either way may experience
some connection speed issues, but it's worth a try. Good luck, and post again if it doesn' work.

It has to be your connection. In most cases the connection is always the problem, so how are you connected through Wifi or by an Ethernet Cable? Maybe while you are playing someone is on your connection and causing your internet to act up. For example your
playing Black Ops 2 and someone at home is on the computer/laptop or even on the cell phone may cause your internet to be slow. Any other devices that are streaming or surfing the web while connected to your internet can interrupt your game. Now for your Xbox,
the only thing I can think of is Clear System Cache on your Hard Drive. If your connected to Xbox Live by Wifi, I advise you to be connected by an Ethernet Cable. Best of Luck.
