    Strange Problem with External Hard Drive


    Having a bit of a weird issue with my external HDD. It has worked with no problems since I bought it, however, recently, my Xbox has stopped recognising it in my total storage (gone from 1.5TB total to the 115GB remaining on the internal), but if I go into
    my settings, it is still there. The external is also set as my default install location, but my Xbox has reverted back to installing to the internal HDD. I can access all my games and apps that were previously installed on the external, but like I said, I
    can only install to my internal now.

    I'm not sure, but it might be a problem with the cable; the connector that plugs into the Xbox is bent, and I have ordered a replacement as a precaution. I was wondering if anybody else has had a similar problem and if it is definitely the cable, or another
    issue?

    External Hard Drive Strange Issue

    When I connect my external hard drive to my Xbox one my Xbox recognizes that it is plugged in but it does not actually work. I know it is recognized because one of the notifications appear that let you know your device is ready to start. Much like with my
    headset which a notification appears and says "Headset Assigned" the only weird thing about the notification for my external hard drive is that there is no text in the box it is just white until the text "Ready to Start" appears inside it. Note this is a
    new issue I've used to external hard drive before multiple times and when it used to be recognized the notification would say "External Hard Drive Ready" but as of late my Xbox has not been doing that. Any help or advice would be great thanks

    Problem with external hard drive

    I bought an external hard drive for my Xbox one and now I can' play any disk game me that had been downloaded on to my Xbox even after I unplug the hard drive. Does anyone know how to fix this ?

    External Hard Drive Strange Issue

    Sorry to hear this. I've had this same issue recently here and there. Try switching which port you're plugging it in to. If that doesn't work then power cycle the console by holding the power button on it for 10 seconds until it shuts down then unplug
    everything from it and let it sit for 5 minutes.

    It worked for me so hopefully will work for you as well.

    There may be a problem with you Hard drive or external hard drive. Try basic troubleshooting with them.

    Try turning your Xbox completely off and unplugging it for a few minutes, then turn it back on and see if the problem persists. Did you install them on an external hard drive? If so try moving them to the internal drive, or vise versa if you installed on
    the internal drive. It's strange that it just never loads but also doesn't freeze. Sounds like a hard drive problem to me, so try a few other games just to make sure. If other games work fine, try reinstalling MGS5 and Nascar.
