I can't belive how insanely stupid this system is! I thought the Xbox live accounts and the profiles on the console were 2 different and separate things! Like almost EVERY other service, you have an account that you can connect with, lets say Facebook.

I have never used live before, however I can't join with any of my hotmail-adresses. They are already connected to xbox live!

    Really stupid MIcrosoft, really stupid...

    :)

You know what else is stupid? The fact that I can't use money in my account to buy another xboxlive membership. I pay for a subscription with cash at Walmart but I apparently cash is frowned upon online. Shady shady shady.

  3. @N133E--- Your existing hotmail addresses will be linked to whatever gamer profile they were set-up for. If you really want you profiles back you can create a "dummy" account. Then switch the account you want to keep to use that email. Then link the address
to you current profile. Let me know if you need more information on this.

@eckstahsee---However frustrating this switch may be for you it was done for good reasons. Microsoft changed to currency so you can use it across multiple platforms, similar to the way Apple does it. They are only trying to make this easier and more efficient.
It takes getting used too but in the end it will all be worth it.

IDK about you but i like knowing that when I pay $20.00 bucks to get money on my account that I actually get 20 bucks and not 1600 MS points. Sorry it is an inconvenience but as always Microsoft does these things for the greater good.

How to uninstall Gaming Services ?

I realize this has already been "answered" (with a typical "it's a feature, not a bug" response) but if anyone else is searching for the real answer, proceed as follows:

    • Uninstall the new Xbox app. If you don't do this, Gaming Services will re-install automatically.
    • If you need Xbox sign-in for any games, install the older Xbox Console Companion app from the Microsoft Store.
    • Open Task Manager and find GamingServicesNet.exe and/or GamingServices.exe under the Details tab, right click and choose End task.
    • Now open PowerShell as admin and run:
    get-appxpackage *gamingservices* | remove-appxpackage
The earlier selected answer wrongfully claimed Gaming Services are integrated into the OS (they aren't, they're related to the new Xbox app) and stated that they only run when or if you run a specific game, which is also untrue.
so true Gameing service run's all the blasted time you can close it out and 5 sec's later it's back running even after uninstalling the game's and the xbox app there just trying to force (Mod Removed) on people nothing more like this new feture news and interest's that was added in an update to the task bar just more bloated (Mod Removed) they don't stop to think not everyone want's some of this. just like the stpuid gamebar that seems can't be unistalled which is usless inless if you don't play xbox game's on your pc. and this gamebat presence writer that like's to run when you play other game's from like steam and such.
