Storage Sync Issue Between Consoles

Hi,

After my first Cyberpunk 2077 play-through on Xbox One X, I was finally able to obtain an Xbox Series X. I was keen to start a fresh new play-through on my Series X, once it was finally all up and running after the updates.

The problem was that my save files from my Xbox One X were not initially synced over to my Series X. I didn't notice this at the time, because I was too keen to get started on my fresh play-through. But I am now looking to sell my Xbox One X, and I would rather not lose those old save files (or the new save files on my Series X).

I do get a message come up on the Xbox One X, that informs me that the save files are out of sync, and it gives me the option to use the local save files or the cloud save files. I am too scared to pick either option, as I don't want to lose any save files.

I understand that it might not be possible to properly sync the save files without losing any data, but I'm hoping that it's possible to transfer my old save files onto some external storage, that will allow me to access my old save files on my Series X, without overwriting my new save files.

If this is achievable, or if anyone has any other ideas, I would be very grateful.

So you have the cloud saves that will be through the XBox cloud service, then you have the saves that are located on your local Series X hard drive. If you can move the saves to the external drive youll have those avail. If the cloud automatically syncs the game save it will be from the cloud. Sometimes a game will give the option of what save via date and time you want to use. Just depends on the game and not sure if this one does it.

There may have been an issue with the sync to cloud.

Are you able to use the original storage device and the original console on the profile that the game was saved on?

There may have been an issue with connection while you were syncing to the cloud.

Hey there, so a couple things to try. In addition to doing a hard reset (while the console is on, hold down the power button for 10 seconds), if you can afford the time to wait and try it, I would uninstall the game completely and then re-download it and
still clear out the cache memory once the game is uninstalled just in case.

That particular game is not very old, and the cloud save should be there somewhere. However if you try all those options and it still isn’t coming back, before giving up, contact the game developer or check their forms to see if this is happened in the past
and what steps might be able to fix it

This is probably not a hardware issue with your console, but rather a network configuration issue.
