    Storage of D: Drive wont work


    Hello "The Brains Trust" of gaming. I just subscribed to Games Pass (I think it is called) and after downloading the first game, the second one used up all space but it won't let me change the storage location to my external D: drive. I have NO room on my C: drive. Help Please!! I am 61 years young so if the solution is obvious...please be kind

    I understand you're having some trouble when trying to install games on your external D: drive. Let’s try to sort this out.

    For that purpose, I would like to ask, is your D: drive formatted with the NTFS file system?

    Please review this by opening the File Explorer > My Computer > Right-click on the drive > Properties.

    If your drive has the required file system, please do the next:
    Go to PC Settings > System > Storage > Advanced Storage Options > Under “Apps”, click on the drop-down and select your D: drive.

    Restart the PC, open the Xbox app and verify if you can install a game on your D: drive.

    ^^ Some games require a pysical hard drive so cloud storage wont work for the op's problem.

    I keep getting the 0x80073d0d error code on the Xbox app.

    It is formatted correctly and also I have selected my F: drive for where new content is saved, and it still doesn't work because I when I try to install a game that is bigger than the amount of storage that is available on my C: drive it pops up a window with only my C: and D: drive options but not F: (and I don't have enough storage on my D: drive either).

    Keep in mind some 360 games MUST run on the internal drive ir storage cards if they are patched which a lot are

    If you are using an external hdd it wont work

    Thanks for the help! I tried installing the game on the C drive and that worked. I also tried installing on my third drive (the D drive) and that also worked. However, both of those drives don't have much storage space and I need to use the F drive (the
    one that gives the error) to store my games. Is there any way to fix this issue? Thanks!
