Still receiving emails from removing email address

My Microsoft account to be used with my Xbox profile was originally created by my dad so his email has always been on it. I have changed the email to mine and removed his email and when I look under account aliases, mine is the only email there. He still received emails whenever I purchase anything on Xbox and I do not. How can I fix this?

Hello, it seems that his e-mail is set up as your security information account. Please try updating your security info from the official website.

To remove the email address you no longer use to sign in to your account, select Remove next to that alias on the Manage your account aliases page, and then follow the instructions provided. Important Do not remove this email address if you still want
to use it to send and receive email messages. Hope this helps.

Interesting. I haven't gone through the process myself, would there be an option to create a second Microsoft Account and then add that (his dad's) email address as an alias to THAT account to keep his inbox?

I've removed the alias from my account (the one I want to change it to) and I'm still receiving the same error message. Sorry, that didn't help. :/

if your email address is a Microsoft email (@hotmail, @live, @outlook) then you wont be able to remove your account from the Xbox account.

removing Microsoft email accounts from Xbox accounts permanently deletes the email account and you will no longer be able to access it

all you can do is add an alias email address then promote that to be the main email address.
