Still have a Xbox Child account - I changed it years ago?

Hello,

I have been on XBOX for nearly 10 years. When I started, it was a child account when i set up my Xbox account aged around 14 years old. Now 22, I find out that my account still classed as an Child Account. Despite changing this years ago that allowed me
to play games like GTA V (1/2 years after its release date) and Call of Duty, I do not understand. When I "changed" my account, the so-called "Parent Account" was terminated after couple of months due to the expiry of the membership.

So my question(s) is: Is there ways to ensure my xbox account is an Adult Account than a Child Account with Adult permissions? Also, why did not work properly when i changed the account setting to allow/ be an Adult Account in about 2014-15?

(I found this out due to an closed beta is not working: Stating that I do not have the right permissions to play this beta).

Hi

If your account was before a Child account as a part of a Family Group, You'll have to add yourself again into a Family as a Child account. You must use another account as Parent, then after you add your account as Child, you make the privacy changes in
your account through the Parent account. Afterwards; you can remove your account from the Family.

If you don't have another account to make it as Parent, you must create a new one.

The Parent account is Organizer , the Child account is a
Member

Add a member to Family Group

Remove a member from a Family Group

Change Privacy Setting on Child account

If your account is still a child account due to age you would still need the parental account to oversee any changes to the settings. If the account is an adult account you would be able to do this. Do you still have a child account? (under 18 years old)

For a while I couldn't do mine because it was a child account.

Once I'd become an adult and it changed to an adult one, I could change it.

This was two years ago though: not sure if it's the same.

Changing your birthdate under your MS profile doesn't changes your xbox child account into in a xbox adult account. Chances are you still have a child account registered in xbox servers

Hi,

Checking that Xbox Family link has reaffirmed the same issue I have had for several years. My account is still considered a child account as it is linked to my father’s Xbox 360 era account.

He lost access to the email attached to the parent account and lost the password years ago. He has also unfortunately since passed away.

As a result, I am unable to access his account and remove my child account status. Is there any other route I can go down in solving this issue?
