Stick drift after latest firmware

I updated a controller to firmware 5.17.3202.0 through the xbox accessories app and now my 2 week old controller has stick drift.

This occured immediately after the firmware update so I'm convinced it"s related to the update.

When i tap up or down on the left stick the controller acts as if I'm holding it up or down, even though it's back at neutral position.

I've tried the revert firmware option but it just brings me back to the xbox accessories app with a message "your controller is up to date".

What's the solution?

Did you follow this steps?

On your Xbox console, press the Xbox button to open the guide, and then go to Profile & system > Xbox Support > Get help > Help topics > Hardware & networking > Controllers > My Xbox controller has connection issues after the last update. Select Check your controller’s firmware to open the controller firmware reversion screen in the Xbox Accessories app, and then follow the instructions in the app.

The latest Xbox controller firmware update may affect Bluetooth connectivity and performance with some older non-Xbox devices. If your controller is having Bluetooth-related issues after a firmware update, you can choose to revert your controller to an earlier firmware version to correct the problem.

Scroll down and look at the lower left side if you can see the page matches the country/region you are currently located.
If not, please select the country/region it is showing and select the correct one among the list.
Make sure to use to check the available contact times of the support.
Select the "Contact Us" button
Select the drop-down menu options that will match your concern.
The next window will provide you with support articles based on your request and we recommend reviewing the relevant articles before selecting the "See contact options" button.
On the final window, you will be presented with multiple options. We suggest selecting either the "Chat online" or the "Request a call" options to speak with someone. Be sure to provide as much detail as possible.
If you cannot get connected to the support, please use the Virtual Agent and enter this exact phrase, "Talk to an agent".

I don't have an Xbox console, I only have a Windows 10 pc, how can I revert the firmware on Windows? The link you provided in your first reply didn't work.

The link doesn't work. It just opens the Xbox Accessories app and I get an error message saying "this controller is already up to date".

How do I revert the firmware on Windows 10?
