    State of Decay 2 "Account lacks priviledges" to allow multiplayer


    Hitting a snag that I have seen in other forums. I have State of Decay 2 on Steam and when I try and connect it to multiplayer it says my account lack priviledges to connect to multiplayer.

    I have:

    - log in and logged out of xbox gaming bar and steam
    - linked, unlinked and link my steam account from xobox gamnebar
    - restarted my router
    - allowed everything via my account
    - checked firewalls,
    - I only use windows defender so nothing likeMcAfee or Avast is blocking it
    - installed and uninstalled Steam and State of Decay 2

    As a side note - I've tried it on my kids laptop and my game and account connect to multiplayer there... so it can't be anything to do with the account settings

    Stumped... utterly stumped. Help?

    Thanks :) I don't have a Game Pass active. Some further information. I purchased this copy as a recent bundle from Steam. I already owned a copy that was a pre-order from back when so I already had a copy with my account (this copy works fine with multiplayer).

    Also curiously I created another Microsoft account and linked my Steam to that instead - the same issue occured though with the same error message.
