    Starfield preload fails preload error code 0x80073b16


    Hi,



    Trying to preload Starfield on PC game pass and getting this error: Something unexpected happened. error code 0x80073b16.



    It is showing 116.6 GB of 116.6GB downloaded but fails during the install. I've tried cancelling and retrying but it shows the same error.

    I've also just successfully downloaded and installed another pc game pass game and that worked, but starfield is still failing.

    Open the Windows store and click library. Make sure everything is up to date. It's likely failing installing the security keys

    Make sure windows is also updated fully

    Update:

    There appears to be an issue with the Xbox App on PC at the moment where no games can be downloaded. They all have the same 0x89235003 error code.

    We need to wait until it's fixed. It's not your system. I can't download anything either.

    Yes I think you are correct, Today it downloaded around 50 mb/s and then asked me to wait for release.
