Starfield: No Audio on Xbox Cloud

I am playing Starfield on a mac, on Xbox cloud.

(Macbook Pro running Monterey, 64GB RAM, M1 Max Chip - Connected to 4K monitor)

There is no audio in-game, on any browser. (There is audio on the login screen, and all other websites).

    It was working fine yesterday.

All audio volume settings in-game are at max, all audio input and output settings look correct.

    I have tried:

    Chrome, Safari and firefox.

I've cleared my cache, deleted history

    Unmuted my microphone on xbox.com

    Rebooted browser

    Rebooted machine

Looked through all menus and settings - I could be missing something really obvious but I don't think so?

    Am totally stuck pls help

Starfield: No Audio on Xbox Cloud :)

    :)

Starfield: No Audio on Xbox Cloud

    Hi Rick Chroma,

    Greetings!

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.

I do understand the urgency of you wanting to find other ways for this issue of yours in regards with your Starfield: No audio on Xbox Cloud issue. We are very glad to help you out to find some of the best possible options and troubleshooting's that we can provide for you.

Just to set your proper expectations on this, we do have experienced ongoing issues withing Starfield as well since this game has just been released and there are some bugs and fixes that still needs to undergo investigation as well and we are aware that all users are experiencing this kind of concerns too and since this had been working before and now it has been not working. Perhaps there are some in-game maintenance that is ongoing or this might be issues within the game itself. To reach out for some queries and concerns for Starfield you can refer to this link to get in-touch with Starfield Support in regards with audio issues: https://help.bethesda.net/#en/home/product/1218/category/287

Firstly, I would like to confirm if you are experiencing this issue only with Starfield or with other games as well. If the issue is only with Starfield, then it could be an issue with the game itself. However, if you are experiencing this issue with other games as well, then it could be an issue with your Mac or the Xbox cloud service.

To get started, I'd like to ask a few questions to better understand the problem that you're facing:

    • Did you try to use New InPrivate Window on your browsers to see if there is some differences between the in-game audio?
    • Since you are using Cloud Gaming, do the issue persist on all of your Cloud gaming games or is it just with Starfield?

To troubleshoot this issue, I would suggest you try the following steps:

    1. Check the audio settings in the game: Make sure that the audio settings in the game are not muted or turned down. You can check this by going to the game settings and checking the audio options.

    2. Check the audio settings on your Mac: Make sure that the audio settings on your Mac are not muted or turned down. You can check this by going to the System Preferences > Sound and checking the audio options.

    3. Check the audio settings on the Xbox cloud service: Make sure that the audio settings on the Xbox cloud service are not muted or turned down. You can check this by going to the Xbox cloud service settings and checking the audio options.

    4. Try using a different browser: Sometimes, the issue could be with the browser you are using. Try using a different browser and see if the issue persists.

    5. Clear the cache and cookies: Clear the cache and cookies of the browser you are using and see if the issue persists.

Here is also specific troubleshooting's that you can try to check as well on Apple Cloud gaming issues since you are using a Mac Device : https://support.xbox.com/en-us/help/games-apps/cloud-gaming/troubleshoot-cloud-gaming-apple

xbox series x upload speeds are capped at 67 mbps.

Xbox services are currently under heavy load from tall the people playing Starfield on cloud, screenshot uploads are a very low priority task. Upload servers are nowhere near as numerous as download, basically you queue to upload

The Xbox servers are constantly load balancing, and the last few weeks with all the people playing Starfield on cloud has been an adventure in load
