Star Wars Battlefront for $53.59 - right after I bought it! [case #mod removed]

OK, here's my situation.

On Sun, Jan 3, 2016 I was thinking of purchasing Star Wars: Battlefront. I checked the store on my Xbox One console (logged in as myself, a Gold member) and I swear the price I saw was 59.99. I decided to think about it and finally at 9:07 PM (according
to my receipt) I went to buy it, again logged in as myself on my console - however it showed up as 79.99. I thought I must have seen it wrong initially, and decided to buy it anyway - although admittedly it hurt at that price.

Today, my friends pointed out to me that it is in fact on sale for 59.99 so I thought I was charged the wrong price. I got on with Harry G. on Xbox Support live chat and he let me know the sale started on Jan 5th, and my records indicate I purchased the
game on Jan 4th due to timezone differences.

So basically, I bought the game one day early and paid a lot more. :/ Harry G. said he would be opening a
case [mod removed] with the Xbox Promotion team, and that I should mention it here as well. I'm really hoping that, given the very small window between my purchase and the sale, I may be able to have it price matched/be refunded
the difference.

I just bought star wars battlefront and after I bought it it said $99.95 dollars again and I bought it what the hell

Star Wars Battlefront is coming out (I think) this fall.

As for some random Star Wars game.... MS doesn't own the rights to Star Wars, so you'd have to contact EA, since they own those rights, and are also the same company making Battlefront.

Hi there! It really didn't seem like I was going to hear any follow up from Harry - he sort of passed me along to the forums and opened that case number. Who do I contact to find a status on this?

Also it looks like a mod removed the case number Harry told me to write in, so I don't know the case number anymore. The live chat window gave me the option of emailing myself the chat log, but it never did after, so I have no record of the case number
anymore.

 

You would need to continue working with phone or chat support. They are the only ones who can deal with billing issues, however, they usually won't issue a partial refund for cases like this.

A mod removed the case number because those actually should not be posted on the forums. Those numbers are only used by phone and chat support and forum support does not have access to that information.

 

Thanks! Makes sense, however I'm not sure how I'm going to follow up now that I don't have the case number Strange that he directed me here in the first place. Oh well.
