Spotify perk is advertised as 6 months when it is actually 3 months?

I recently found out that I could get Spotify premium for 6 months. When I go to redeem the perk it takes me on to the Spotify page which states it is only 3 months premium. It is definitely advertised as 6 so I am confused why it is different when you
try to redeem it.

Spotify has offered 6 month free options in the past however all of the ones I checked in Google Search have expired and don't connect to any relevant pages on the Spotify web site. Maybe that is why you only see the 3 month offer now via the GamePass offer.

You don't specify how or where you saw the 6 month offer advertised (email, radio ad, etc) so keep in mind that some 6 month free offers may be contingent on being a member of some other business (eg Chase Bank customer, Samsung) so double check that information
to see where/how to redeem that offer and/or whether it is still available since every deal that I've seen has an expiry date.

You can claim your Spotify by following these steps:

Disclaimer: You have to have the Spotify app on your xbox, and have a account linked to the spotify app for it to work.

1. Press the home button on your controller.

2. Go down to the "Claim your Perks now" button.

3. You should see a button named "Show all" in the Xbox Game Pass category. Press that button.

4. There should be a Perk button. Go ahead press that.

5. You should see a List of perks. Press the Spotify Premium perk.

6. Open that QR code in your phone, or you can Open it in Microsoft Edge.

7. You must have a linked credit card / debit card to activate it.

8. You have gotten 6 months of spotify premium for free! (Please do remember after your 6 month trial you will be billed $9.99 USD every month after the 6 month trial.)

It depends where you live as to if you get 6 months or just 3 months, and if you have used Spotify Premium before the perk doesn't seem to work (it appears to be for new users only as it worked for me but not 6 of my family/friends and I am the only one
who has never used Spotify before)

It's a bit hit and miss. I've never used spotify but it only offered 3 months for me. My brother who has used spotify had 6 months.
