    I have the xbox approved Seagate 2 tb external hard drive for my xbox one x. I have had it for 13 months. The xbox suddenly stopped recognizing the hard drive. I switched and tried all three usb ports on the xbox. My lap top recognizes the hard drive using
    the same usb 3.0 cable as I use with the xbox. This is clearly an xbox issue. How can it be fixed without destroying all the game data on the drive?

    If you try any other USB devices and they are not recognized you have an issue with that. Have you fully powered the console down? Hold the Xbox button for 8-10 seconds until the console fully shuts off. If you cannot get anything to be recognized on
    the USB inputs I would suggest re-imaging your console with a factory reset or downloading the image to a USB and doing the offline reset.

    No other devices. Its just the HDD. I plugged in a 512gb thumb drive and it did not recognize that either. Any theories? It conveniently all happened as soon as the warranty expired.

    this seems software related to do with the console its self then, all i can recomend is sending it in to microsoft for a repair service. you need to have registerd you device with microsoft for it to apper on your devices list

    Thanks for looking, but I have done all of that. As a last resort I just did a "soft reset" and now it keeps giving me a system error: E102 10070C02 8B060008. All from the steps I tried through the xbox support site.
