    Splitting an existing minecraft game purchase from an adult microsoft/xbox profile, into...


    I want to split an existing minecraft from my profile into it's own child profile. When I first purchased the game for my child, I attached it to my existing microsoft account as I never thought that I would want to play it, however now my child would like me to play with them.

    So I bought a new copy of the game, but I obviously now realise we can't be friends in order to play in the same world, because they are under the same microsoft/xbox profile.

    How can I split the original minecraft purchase into a child profile under my own?

    Original game purchased for Android tablet, second game purchased for a windows 11 PC.

    Sorry to say but unfortunately any kind of content transfer between Microsoft accounts can’t be made
    (Is not possible to transfer purchases, licenses, progress, Xbox profiles or similar)

    you should have created him is own account as a child account, nothing can be split from your microsoft account and he will have to start new. i made my kids their own accounts when they were 2 and 3 and so forth, now they are adults and their accounts converted to adult accounts.

    you can keeo the console as your home console and he can access the games etc from his new profile but yes he will need to start over.

    Based on your description, you have kept the receipt of your game. May we know if the game was purchased from here - Minecraft Java Edition | Minecraft or elsewhere?

    Should you have purchased the game from the Minecraft website there is a transaction ID on it that the Minecraft Support can check. As what Francia J. mention on one of her responses, the Microsoft account will display the game license you have bought from Xbox.com website or Microsoft Store. If you have purchased the game from Microsoft, then the game's achievement will be save on your profile (Xbox Profile) and license (Microsoft Account | Order History) will show in your Microsoft Account. Otherwise, you have been playing the game with an active Xbox Game Pass subscription and if this subscription is discontinued you will need to buy the game or re-subscribe to Xbox Game Pass.

    By the way, there is no need to provide your transaction ID here as only Minecraft Support has a tool for that. We look forward for your response.
