    Split payment with Debit and Microsoft Credit Error


    Was trying to preoder Journey to the Savage Planet and i had 15$ of Microsoft credit and a debit card I wanted to use to pay the rest as the game is 29.99$ plus tax. Well instead of a split payment it used my debit card and charged the full 32.82$ to my
    debit card and took my 15$ Microsoft credit even though the splitpayment didnt work and i issued a refund right after i noticed this. Im wondering how long it will take for the refund to come through, will i get my Microsoft credit back, and how do i fix this
    from happening again?

    I did make sure to select the Microsoft credit first and then an additional payment option but it still charged the full amount of the item to the card while taking the Microsoft credit

    Typically it takes 3-5 business days to receive a refund after your refund has been approved. If the credit was part of the refund, then you should get that back as well, but you may need to respond to the email you received that approved the refund in order
    to contact the refund specialists to verify.

    As far as making sure that doesn't happen in the future, just make sure you start the payment with the Microsoft account balance and then use the card and verify the information on your screen before confirming payment.

    Paypal not listed as an option to pay the remainder of the purchase.

    You have to choose, PayPal or Credit/Debit card as primary method of payment, then you will get the option to split payment between MSC and PayPal and Credit/Debit card.

    Hi,

    If you have money on your account then that is the default method Microsoft will use to take the payment, unless you also have another payment option and you choose this instead.

    If you buy something with your account balance, it will not show on a bank statement.

    You can also split payments between account balance and credit/debit cards. Any credit/debit payments from split purchases would show on a statement however.
