Sound not working for Xbox Series X

I’m not getting any sound at all from my Xbox. It happened out of nowhere, it was fine and now no sound at all. Not even on startup or Home Screen. I’ve tried different HDMI ports, didn’t change. Tried using all the suggested setting changes and still no sound. Triple checked connection, wires, sound settings but I’m not getting anything at all.

Hi I've tried reset options on my xbox one s and one x it worked but xbox series consoles do not work so i tried offline system update on series x it's worked only for one day i earn achievements in Forza Horizon 5 hot wheels dlc but in the next day it didn't worked no notification or sound anything,so i tried my friend xbox series x this same problem happening looks like it's a Microsoft side issue.

Geri, I'm not sure if you still are receiving this thread but I did get my replacement Xbox controller today and I hooked it up to my series X and everything worked fine except that there is no sound coming through my wired headphones. These are Arctis Prime Steel Series wired headphones that worked fine with all my other controllers and just recently with my Xbox series X controller but when I connected to the Elite control they sent me it does there's no sound coming through. I cleaned the port a harder rebooted my Xbox Series X I updated the firmware and still no results.

Do you have any suggestions?

Hello Anneke, thanks for reaching out for support on the Xbox forum. I'm sorry that you're experiencing this issue annoying audio issue. Not to worry, I'm happy to help you find a solution!

First, clear the console cache by holding the Xbox button on the front for 10 seconds to fully shut it down, then unplug it for 1 minute before turning it back on.

If it's still not working, try the Audio setup tool. There is a guide for those steps in the Xbox Support article:

If there’s still no audio at all, it's worth checking if your TV or monitor needs a firmware update or if another device gives sound through the same HDMI port, just to rule out hardware issues.

The product doesn’t work with Xbox it has no problem with PC and sounds good. On the the Xbox series x the quality is very bad a lot of other people have problems with headsets aswell
