Sound lag when running my Xbox One X through my Soundbar

I'm new to the forums, so i'm not sure if this has been asked about or not, but I am experiencing significant sound lag when I run my Xbox One X through my Sony Soundbar that supports Dolby Atmos.

At first I thought it was the sound bar, but when I connect my Xbox directly through the TV and have the soundbar connected separately the lag disappears, BUT ... it will no longer let me us Dolby Atmos. Just Dolby Digital.

Has anyone else experienced this? Both my TV and soundbar let me adjust for sync, but only to delay the sound. The issue is the sound is already behind and not ahead. There is no way to delay the video it appears.

Please help! Any suggestions are appreciated!

just a few questions about how you have it connected, do you have the sound bar connected directly toy your xbox? also how do you have it connected by? there are different things that can cause an audio lag but one of the things that happens is when the
sound signal is processed more than once. example would be the xbox processes the sound then the sound is again processed at the sound bar. Normally one device would need to be set so that the other item can process the sound if both are able to do atmos.
normally it can be done either way around in most cases. Most people chose to have the actual device do the sound processing and not the xbox.

It has nothing to do with TV as everything else that runs through the Xbox One is fine/has no lag. The TV and Soundbar do have options to adjust lag but sound is so out of sync that they cannot adjust enough. Funny how the"suggested answer" is the one that
blames my hardware, not the box.

Will try the 24hz option although I'm pretty sure I tried that when I first saw the issue.

As I said, this lag problem only affects DVDs, BluRays and games are all fine so the only thing that could be causing this is the DVD/BluRay app or the xboxs drive.

My DVD and Bluray playback is extremely low, have to have my soundbar up 3 times higher than when watching any other video app on xbox one. What is going on??

I have my sound set to stereo uncompressed which didn't seem to do anything. Sound is going out through HDMI to the tv then through optical to the soundbar.

Tried everything, still problems with sound and picture not syncing. Is this a software issue, or could it be a hardware issue as well since I just got the Xbox Series X?

EDIT: Xbox directly to TV no sound lag, but to soundbar the lag is clearly noticeable ... the soundbar in question is optical, could that be the problem? I also put my headset on my controller, this works fine too... hope to hear from you, thanks in advance...
