    Sound keeps cutting out only when playing games


    I have an Xbox One that’s about 6 or 7 years old now and recently I’ve noticed after about 2 minutes of playing any game the sound cuts out. I’ve tried basic trouble shooting like changing the hdmi etc but I can’t seem to work out the problem.

    The tv is the same tv I have used it with for the last 5 years problem free and the tv has no known sound issues.

    The Xbox has issue with sound if I’m on the menus, watching YouTube or any of the apps only when a game is running and every single time after about 2 or 3 minutes the sound just stops emitting. It comes back on if I restart the console and it comes back on if I switch the tv off and back which leads to me believe that maybe it’s not just the one issue?

    The Xbox does keep saying that the memory is full could this be a factor or could it just be down the fact that the technology is getting older or maybe worn out?

    Any help would be appreciated thanks

I believe that your problem is related to the lack of space that your Xbox has, the first thing I could tell you to do the test is to start deleting some games or data that you are no longer using. After freeing up the space, see if the problem has been resolved, if not, I suggest that you format your console, keeping the games. If that doesn't work, I'll recommend a full format.

    How is your sound connected i have it only on optical and dolby atmos enable with 12bit helping ist console 10 bit with atmos or use windows sonic its good and i find same quality on avr.

    Sorry for the delay, due to the holidays I was away and didn't have too much free time.

    I unplugged the hard drive and put it back in, and the sound problem is still persisting...

    I also moved a shelf so there is more room for the xbox. I'm really not sure what it would be... There is now about 6 inches above open and 6-7 inches all around it. It's still in a tv shelf, so its not completely open. But i don't really want to put it
    on my floor since its carpet. Could it really be getting too warm?

    Sorry to hear about the audio issues! I would double verify that all of the TV settings match up by following this guide

    here    ! In addition, I see that you have changed the TV audio settings, but I would select Digital Stereo if it isn't already. Let us know if that guide helped!
