Sound issues with HDMI E-ARC. Xbox-x to Tv to Receiver

I recently re-did how I had my hdmi cords set up. I had it set up like so; Xbox-x to receiver to tv. I noticed I wasn’t getting 4K gaming doing that, so I switched my HDMI cables to this; Xbox-x to tv to receiver, I set my tv and xbox to pass through and Dolby Atoms, but after I am in an app or a game for a little while the sound will cut out and doesn’t work until I go back to the Home Screen and go back into the app. What could the problem be and how can I fix this?

here is a link that you can check but you will have to know your sound on which device it comes out, a bar,
a bluetooth headset it may not be the xbox

I also have the same setup. Xbox Series X conneted to Samsung TV via HDMI. Samsung TV connected to a Klipsch sound bar via HDMI ARC. Experiencing the same issue described by many others.

Update firmwares for TV, XB1S & Sound bar.
XB1S HDMI OUT (to TV) goes to Sound bar HDMI IN. (DOES NOT GO TO TV)
Sound bar HDMI ARC OUT goes to TV HDMI ARC.
TV AUDIO set to PCM. TV VIDEO set to ARC.
Sound bar audio set to HDMI IN. (NOT HDMI ARC)
XB1S Video set to 4K UHD.
XB1S Audio set to ATMOS.

*Most importantly, XB1S HDMI OUT (to TV) DOES NOT GO TO TV, BUT GOES TO Sound bar IN! XB1S HDMI IN Should NOT BE USED!

i am having the same issue as yours, except, the sound bleeds to the other surround speaker,, on the Neflex test pattern, the sound from the left surround channel will bleed into the right surround channel and vis versa.. i have the xbox one x connected
deerfly to my surround sound receiver.

i have tried all the audio out options on the xbox, uncompressed, bitstream, dobly digital, and DTS, the surround bleed is in all the issues

This does not happen when i play the Netflix test through my Samsung smart tv

for your second issue, i believe Samsung TVs do not pass through 5.1 surround sound from an HDMI in to an HDMI ARC out. if you put in 5.1 in HDMI in, you will only get 2 channels out of HDMI ARC. other tvs do not have this issue, but Samsungs do

Do you have connected the Xbox One X directly to your Onkyo receiver or you have connected the console to the TV and use HDMI ARC for the receiver?
