Sound drops in xbox 360 backwards compatipility

I appreciate that. If you continue having the same problem after checking your settings, our last resort would be to perform a factory reset. There's an option first to keep your games and apps.

I'm still having issues, but I think it may be my audio setup on my series x console. I'm going to experiment with it.

May I know exactly the Xbox console model/generation you use to play your 360 games?
When did the issue start to occur?
How does the sound drop? Which part of the game? Does it come back or not anymore after few seconds or minutes?

Having your games in physical or digital copy has nothing to do with sound issue so long as you're able to play the game.

Thank you so much for the additional information, Frost. Technically, it shouldn't be an issue if you play the game using a physical copy. Probably, it may only be an issue or bug with the backwards compatibility system.

Please instead try to clear your local 360 storage:
Go to Profile & system > Settings > System > Storage. On the Manage storage devices > Clear local Xbox 360 storage.

Also, try redownloading your profile. While in the Backward Compatible game, press the menu and select button simultaneously to bring up the Xbox 360 guide. While in the guide, scroll down and select 'Download Profile' to re-enter your Xbox Live credentials.

I am playing them on series x but it also happens when I play them on the xbox one so it may not matter which model/generation it plays on (but they play well on the 360 of course). As for the sounds, it drops at times when I move to a certain location or drops randomly. some sounds drop while others stay on. for example while playing rage all the sounds completly drops. This problem seems to only occur for games that uses at least 2 discs to play while there are no issues for single disc games. All the games that I have that use multi-discs are physical copies so I've been wondering if it as something do with playing them on the physical copy or it maybe the issue with backwards compatibility the multi-disc games. That's all I could best describe.
