Sort of a weird dilemma but... accessing a game pass game an expired user downloaded...

It's really easy to do, just follow the below process....

1. Press the Xbox button  to open the guide.
2. Select System > Settings > General > Personalization, and then select My home Xbox.
3. Do either of the following:
   • Select Make this my home Xbox to designate the console as your home Xbox.
   • Select Remove this as my home Xbox to remove the designation.

When you change home consoles, all device licenses for digital content will move to your new home Xbox. These device licenses will no longer be available on your previous home Xbox. In other words, when you switch your home Xbox, access to your content
comes with you to your new home Xbox, and anyone signed in can enjoy it. Your previous home Xbox will still give your friends and family access to your stuff when you’re signed in to it.

Just so I am understanding you correctly.

1. You had a 14 day trial of the game pass and downloaded a game that was in the game pass vault.

2. Your trial expired.

3. A friend of yours signed in with their account on your console and this account does have an active game pass subscription but can not play the game that you had downloaded that is still part of the game pass vault and has not been removed?

Theoretically his account should still be able to play the game with his game pass subscription which would give his account/profile the license for that game.

It does seem like there is a glitch somewhere in the console like it is still trying to check for the license through your expired game pass subscription.

Try a couple things to see if this works.

1. Remove your profile from the system and then try and see if it will work for him.

2. Do a clearing of the system cache on the console by doing the following.

a. Hold the power button on the front of the console down for 5 seconds for it to shut off.

b. Unplug the power supply for approximately a minute.

c. Plug back in.

d. Power back on and try playing the game with your friends account and see if that does anything.

Is this happening with any other gamepass games or just this one in particular?

How would I go around to doing that? I am not too familiar with using the actual console myself...

The account that owns the game pass should be set as xbox home in order to share the membership in your console.

Are these games you directly purchased or are these games you downloaded while belonging to the game pass? If you subscription to game pass expires you will lose access to the games you downloaded while it was active.
