"Sorry, this can't be shared because we don't recognize the game"

I have never been able to share clips that I've recorded using the Xbox App for Windows 10. I keep getting the "Sorry, this can't be shared because we don't recognize the game" error. It says "You can only share clips and screenshots on Xbox Live if they
come from Xbox One or Windows Store games". Problem is: I get this message for clips of Xbox One games such as Halo: Master Chief Collection and Halo 5: Guardians.

I spoke with both Microsoft and Xbox support. While they were both polite and helpful, they were unable to narrow down why I am not able to share the clips on Xbox Live. Anyone else experiencing this or have tips on how to possibly resolve it? Any help
would be much appreciated.

Hey everyone!

I have this message "Sorry, this can't be shared because we don't recognize this game" when I want share my clips on XBOX app Windows 10 DVR. I tested these games: Tiny Troopers, Tiny Troopers 2, Forza Motorsport 6 APEX, Microsoft treasure Hunt. I know that
only games from xbox live or from windows shop are supported. When I want share a screenshot there is no problem but when I press SHARE on clip from this games I get the message "Sorry, this can't be shared because we don't recognize this game"

Can anyone help???

Which games are not working for you? In the Xbox App, you are able to record clips from PC games, but you may only be able to share clips and screenshots from Xbox titles, as you're sharing it with your Xbox friends and the Xbox Live network.

If this is the issue here, I hope this information helps explain why it may not be working as you'd hoped.

Hi Safavid, Can you tell us what version of the app your using? Are you also experiencing this issue with Xbox App (Beta)? If yes, please use the 'report a problem" feature. This will provide helpful data for the developers to investigate.

You can DL the beta version here:
www.microsoft.com/.../9NBLGGH1J27H or go to the Store app, search for “Xbox beta” and it will show up as a search result.

Hi Bestlano. I am using version 11.11.19012.00000. I installed the Xbox App (Beta) and still got the same result. I am reporting the issue through the app.

I have looked through that guide, and I haven't seen anything that applies to uploading videos, or at least from what I've seen. I have everything recorded and I have the videos stored, but because it's saying the game isn't recognized, it won't allow me
to upload. "Sorry, this capture can't be shared. We don't recognize the game." is what it's telling me currently. I think that because I had to add in the shortcut manually made it so it didn't recognize the title, but I'm not positive. Any guides that deal
with uploads under these circumstances? I haven't seen any when I searched through personally.

Thanks for the details, I'm understanding a bit more of what you're trying to do. To clarify, were these clips recorded through the Game DVR function of the Xbox App originally or through another means?

I have the same issue to be honest, which only the games that I have through my cellphone to my win10, are the once that I can share their clips, other than that.. games like street fighter, DBZ, Fallout 4, We can't do that since it's not from "Xbox titles".

At least provide those games with "Xbox tittles' for pc, so that we can share or clips and everything.

I mean some people love to play on pc, and some can't afford to get an Xbox one in the meanwhile.. just so that we can take screenshots and share gameplays.

I totally do agree with him.
