Been playing 360 games on my Xbox series x fine then suddenly today it doesn’t let me connect to live.

I followed a bunch of posts on here and it’s just made my situation worse.

Now I’ve signed out of my 360 account on my Series X and unlinked it or whatever, but not it won’t let me download my account.

I’ve tried changing my password and I’ve tried setting up 2FA but that doesn’t work.

The only password that shows is an 8 digit one but that doesn’t let me log in either and I keep getting the same error.

I’m at my wits end.

One of two things could be causing this.

Like the others have said it could be the password but what they have not said is that for the 360s including the emulators on the Ones the password box is limited to 16 characters so if your password is longer than 16 characters it will see it as a wrong
password when trying to sign in.

The second thing like the others have said is 2 factor authentication the 360s including the emulators do not play well with 2 factor authentication. You would either need to turn this off or use the app password.

I would first change your account password, and then go from there. If not I would go and contact xbox / microsoft support @

lately there have been technical problems, please try again later today although they should be fixed but if the problem persists the best I can recommend is that you help xbox by reporting the problem through the following link:

Click on the green "Report" button and fill in the information as detailed as possible.

This way, Xbox will know that there is a problem and will be able to work to fix it as soon as possible.

Keep in mind that this public forum is just gamers like you trying to guide and help other gamers. We are not Microsoft employees.

Another option I can recommend is if your problem is on pc. reinstall windows or check if your version is up to date as a last resort. I use windows 10 and have had no problems with anything, but I have noticed that windows 11 does, if so you could also report the problem through microsoft support at the following link.

Navigate to the search bar and enter your problem. Press Enter or click "Get Help". Log in to access the support options. Choose the appropriate product, select the appropriate category and confirm your selection. The system will provide you with support options to help you further.

I found the thing to generate an app password but that doesn’t work either and gives me the same error.
