I'm sorry to hear about this issue. When you sign in https://account.microsoft.com/services, what is the status of your subscription? Is itactive or suspended?

If active, you can continue using your subscription until the system successfully processes the payment using the card on file.

If suspended, access to your subscription will be restricted until the outstanding balance is settled.

Microsoft attempts to charge the payment method on file on the expiration date. If recurring billing is enabled, the system will make multiple attempts to process the payment. However, if the charges fail after several attempts, the subscription will be suspended.

Hi, calling them may not be the only way, I had this issue with an old gamertag. I did ring Microsoft xbox 360 help line, they told me when I had deleted my debit card as a payment option it was a little too late, you have to remove a payment option at least
two weeks before the next payment is due, this process is automatic.

If this is not the case ring them up and go from there, if not just like me you removed your payment option too late as the Live system will automatically role your card for payment earlier so the actual payment goes through but this is not common knowledge.

This is what happened to me anyways, the fact that I removed my payment a little too late without knowing that my card had already been issued for the next months payment early so in fact I did owe them by the system for the next months xbox live payment,
this was they only way around me. All I did was re-add my card to my payment option, paid what I owed and then everything was fine. Hope this has helped

When tries playing fortnite, it keeps asking him to get xbox live gold even though my account is linked with his xbox. It doesn't give any other option apart from the 6.99 xbox live or a month for 1 pound

ok, that's what I needed to hear. So instead of paying 49.99$ the next time (3 months), it will be free, until my initial 80$ payment from Xbox Live Gold will be empty. Am I right ?
