Anyone know of a better weapon I could use beside a dark knight sword +5

 

Also has anyone had trouble getting into the fortress? I ran the bell on my warrior but the game never opened

 

Yea I even dbl checked both and nothing. This is weird and frusting. BTW since I got the DS for free for gold and I bought the expansion would that mess anything up?

 

That has never happened to me. Have you tried playing up to that part of the game again (you can have up to 10 save on any 1 save device) Sorry I can't give you any advice on the Glitch though. I shouldn't think the DLC would of messed anything up.

 

In regards your question about "better" weapons, there really is no such thing in this game. Dark Souls is so well balanced that you're better off looking for weapons that you like to use. Find something that you like the moveset on, look at the scaling
to plan your stats, and take into account the weight for the roll that you want to utilize. If you like the black knight sword, use it. I would, however, advise that you play around with different weapons to see what works for you.

 

I just didnt know if there is another weapon that I could use that was lighter with same dmg or more. I got it to what the sword requirements said to have it. So if I put more into str would it do more dmg. Wish I could get hold to a stragety guide book
of the game. This game is a great one and looking forward to the 2nd and the one thats comming out later this year/next year

On the bell thing im not sure if its a glitch. I did go directly to the catacomb to get my item to get the ring that makes you transparent.

 

Yes, there are other weapons that will output more damage, depending on your stats. Damage isn't everything though. Being comfortable with the weapon's moveset and being able to utilize it is very important. You may like the black knight sword, and if
so, stick with it.

Yea I found this yesterday when looking things up for DS but have no idea how to use it.

 

You can put in the weapon you want to use and see what the damage rating is that comes up based on your stats. You can also put in weapons and armor to see how your roll is. And, if you start doing character planning it will give you the best starting
class to meet the stats that you set. It's a really nice tool.

 

Does anyone have a Tin Crystallization Catalyst they dont want or need that could possibly trade. Also Im going for the polearm magic weapon from the butterfly. Anyone have ideas for shields.

 

Shields to use against the Moonlight Butterfly? Crest shield or Dark Hand are both good to use.

 

No shields in general to use on the sorcery. I beat the moonlight butterfly easy with help of witch

 

Depends on what you want to do...

Do you parry? Do you want protection against everything in one shield? Do you want 100% physical block? How much weight can you handle? There are lots of questions and lots of options.

What I do a lot is tailor my shield usage to the enemy that I'm expecting to face. If I need fire defense I grad the Dragon Crest Shield, Heater Shield, or Black Knight Shield, for instance. Grass Crest Shield is also good for the stamina regen. For magic
block, see the ones I listed above.

 

I use a Enchanted Falchion on my Sorcerer.It's fast,has decent reach & being enchanted it scales up with your intelligence.

Shield wise i use a Crest Shield most of the time.
