    Hi,

    I'm trying to help my son who is stuck using the Minecraft Beta for Windows 10 having registered with an adult account to the Xbox insider programme.

    My son who is 14 installed the Xbox insider app on his PC so that he could test out Minecraft beta. He wants to stop using it as he wants to install the latest non-beta version so he can go back to using multiplayer with his friends.

    The game was originally installed with his child xbox account, but he created an adult xbox account to join the beta insider programme.......Yep, I know! [Q1: why is this so easy to do without age proof?]

    Needless to say he is gutted as he appears to have lost all his worlds having not backed them up properly. He had copied them within his microsoft account (?)....rather than exporting them. Luckily I think we've found a local backup from January - we hope. Once he has left the Minecraft Beta programme we hope that he can restore his worlds from this.

    Harsh, but lesson learnt. Son unable to leave Minecraft Beta or sign into Xbox Insiders as child - Windows 10 :(

    Q2: How can he leave the Minecraft Beta & insiders program ?

    Whilst trying to leave the insider program he was unable to launch the insider app.... because he has a child's account.

    We have tried:

    1. Deleting Minecraft, rebooting, and reinstalled it but the beta version always gets installed from the Windows store.
    2. Ran Powershell command Get-AppxPackage -allusers *minecraftUWP* | remove-appxpackage -allusers
    3. De-register from the xbox insider programme as the adult account- but it crashed and closed - no error.
    4. Deleted adult xbox account. (today - so less than 60 days ago)
    5. Installed Minecraft using his MS account on a different Win10 laptop it installs the correct non-beta version.....but it won't on the original Win10 PC.

    Would greatly appreciate any support from a Microsoft / Xbox admin assist on this issue ? Or someone who has experienced the same problem. I daresay other are experiencing very similar issues.....but I can't see anyone with quite our scenario.

    It's difficult to express how upset he is. I can relate to how he's feeling having experienced similar many years ago...way before the Internet .....playing Acorn Elite on the BBC...but that's another story Son unable to leave Minecraft Beta or sign into Xbox Insiders as child - Windows 10 ;)

    He has lost his worlds potentially going back several years as well as the ability to connect with his friends during lockdown so is understandably very upset.

    Any help/advice, would be very much appreciated.

    1. On Xbox One or a Windows 10 PC, sign in with the account that registered for the Minecraft Beta and launch the Xbox Insider Hub.
    2. Navigate to Insider content > Minecraft (or Minecraft for Windows 10 on PC)
    3. Select Manage.
    4. Use the radio button to select Unenroll (Leave this preview), then select Done.
    5. Wait an additional 30-60 minutes after unenrollment completes (Pending no longer appears in the Xbox Insider Hub).
    6. Uninstall and reinstall Minecraft.

    Hello, tyTaylor1! Have you tried uninstalling Minecraft and Re-installing it? also If It's in Bet, You would need to go to the XBox Insider Hub and Unenroll from the Beta Program.
