Son can not join multiplayer Terraria or Minecraft

I gave up. I have found older posts with this issue. They resolved it by changing a setting in Xbox360. The problem now? that setting no longer exists in the current version of settings. I feel that setting is a ghost and still active on my son's account and since I can no longer change it, it will be a permant setting on his account. It would be great if one of the programmers would see this post and look into it. That is the only way to get this resolved. Newer games don't have this problem because they are not coded for Xbox360. What I find ironic is I can give my son adult access and no restrictions and it still pops up in Terreria.

If he has a child account you should not take him out the Microsoft family that won't help, actually he can lose privileges depending on the age of the account

Remove the account from the Console

Please perform a power cycle reset, follow these steps:

Unplug the power cable from the back of the router, modem, or gateway for 5 minutes. If you have a router and a modem, unplug the power cable from both devices.

Restart your Xbox One console. Press and hold the Xbox button in the center of your Xbox One controller to open the Power Center. Select Restart console and then select Restart. (If the console appears to be frozen, press and hold the Xbox button  on the console for 10 seconds, until the console turns off. After the console shuts down, touch the Xbox button on the console again to restart.)

After 5 minutes, plug the modem or gateway in first, and wait for all the lights to return to their normal state.

If you are using a router, plug in the router and wait for all the lights to return to their normal state.

Download the account again

The new settings page doesn't quite follow the pictures, but yes he has all those settings enabled. Remember, he can play multiplayer games just fine. Its Terraria specifically that won't let him make the multiplayer selection.

When I removed him from the family group to become his own login, I had to purchase Game Pass Ultimate for him. I am under the impression Gold live is included with the ultimate pass.

When he is on his own account does he have to specify his home xbox? Theoretically, he should be able to login to any xbox with his personal account and have access to his games and settings. I thought the home Xbox was for when you are sharing a gold account to another xbox in the house?

After making the changes and having his privacy setting all allow and everybody, still gets that error message.

You will have pictures, don't only change the ones mark, check how the other options are set also

What is the xbox account? Where can I change the age settings? is that where you say 12 and up, or 16 and up etc? I had him test with no age restrictions in xbox and still not able to play.

What setting for Terraria exists that doesn't exist for any of the other multiplayer games he plays? Fortnite, War thunder etc.

On the same xbox, my account has no issues.
