Sometimes I can’t hear other people in the chat

I am very sorry for the problem you are going through, with the intention of being able to help you I did an internal search on the Microsoft forum and found a publication by Christopher Revoredo Gutiérrez, an independent advisor, where he suggests the following steps to take into account to resolve the problem:

If you are having audio problems and cannot hear the audio or other users cannot hear you, first check the volume, balance and mute settings of your headphones:

The volume of the headphones is controlled by activating the dial, on the outside of the right earcup. Make sure the headphone volume is not turned all the way down.

The dial on the outside of the left earcup adjusts the audio balance between chat and gaming audio. Make sure the dial is not turned all the way in one direction, as this will completely mute game or chat audio.

Make sure the headset microphone is not muted (when muted, the light at the end of the microphone turns off). The headphone mute button is located behind the microphone, on the bottom of the left earcup.

In addition to this, if the previous method did not work for you, you can use what Xbox support suggests with audio problems in chats:

If you can't hear chat audio when using the Xbox One chat headset, or if others can't hear you, try the following solutions first.

Disconnect the headphones or disconnect the headphone cable from the bottom of the controller and reconnect it firmly.

Check the mute button on the headphone controls to make sure the headphones are not muted.

Turn up the volume. If you use headphones connected to the 3.5mm port, go to Profile & system > Settings > Devices & connections > Accessories, then select your controller to adjust the audio options.

Note: If you're using the headset with a Windows computer, go to Settings, choose Devices, select your controller, and then adjust the audio options.

Try using another controller or headset to see if the hardware is working properly.

You can also sign in to https://account.xbox.com/settings and make sure that all multiplayer settings are set to “allow” or “everyone”:

Please click “submit”, once confirmed restart your device to re-sync and make sure all changes are saved.

I have tried it and it other people can’t hear me through a party

If you are doing it immediately you need to way a few for it to update. You could try removing your account and adding it back.

First you have to open all ports on your router. Then you should test the Nat-type connection on your Xbox. It should work now. The wifi information should now read: Nat type open
