"Something went wrong launching your game" xbox app for pc

this happened yesterday after world war z had some odd lobby bug where it tried to start the "match" when no one in our party was ready. Alt F4'd to close out of the game, went to restart. I now get a constant "Something went wrong launching your game" error but there is no way to tell how to fix it. I've restarted my pc, shut down my pc, uninstalled and reinstalled both the app and the game.

I am at a loss as to what can be done as I have also searched up this issue and others that while aren't necessarily the same may provide some insight but the lack of any proper error code or extra information doesn't help as there is no way to narrow down the issue. Also doesn't help that so far this is the only game that has this issue. As Control, Pillars of Eternity 2, and Halo Wars 2 launch just fine which are all installed on the same drive on the same pc.

can you direct me somewhere where i can contact the developer if microsoft/xbox isn't going to do anything past this point?

I believe i covered just about everything that could be wrong that could be fixed via that link above. 1. I've uninstalled and reinstalled. That's the first troubleshoot option. 2. Game doesn't freeze, but i cannot repair (there is no repair option on windows pc for the xbox app), reinstalling the game still doesn't help, network is fine (wired into the internet), my pc is more than able to play it. 3. The error message is the title of the post in quotes, it does not give me a proper error code so i cannot search it up. 4. No in game display issue 5. no in game audio issue 6. no game account issues and 7. no controller/headset issues.

Sorry you are having problems, Would you please provide us with more details like operating system, platform (i.e. Windows (version number), Windows Phone (model number), Xbox app beta). There is not much we can do without those.

Besides, emptying the cache, uninstalling/reinstalling the app and power cycling there is not much else to do without more data.

Yes there were server issues from 18:30 to midnight PST on the 21st they are working now. Have you tried again?
