Something went wrong after May 2019 update

I just got home from work and turned on my Xbox One and I have an error message on the screen that says " Something went wrong" System error E101 [Mod Removed]. So I went online and did all of the steps of the troubleshooter and nothing
worked. I spent over an hour on the phone with support and they just told me to do the same things the troubleshooter did.

My console worked fine last night, I get home today after it downloaded the Update and I can't even Reset my console. Everytime I try to do anything it just restarts and trys to install the update that stopped it from working.

Help, Please?

Support said since my console is out of warrantee I will have to pay a fee of $159 to get it repaired? Your update apparently bricked my console and I have to pay to fix it? That is just wrong. Has anyone else had this issue or possibly a solution?

I've never had my console get bricked from a update but $159 isn't to bad.

I know if it was me I would be upset but it's cheaper than having to spend around $300 for a new console.

Hi, I am Bella. Sometimes updates tend to mess up your xbox. I had this issue but it was resolved after a reset plus unpluging my xbox for 60 seconds. If that doesnt work then it may have to have to be repaired😣

If you can't bypass the screen that keeps giving you an error than that sucks, the only thing you could do most likely is send it in for a repair. Like, if you try any and everything that Microsoft permits then I think the next step would be to take the
console away from the internet so it doesn't try to update. Then after that if it works, do a soft factory reset of the console...and then reconnect it to the internet. Since you can't get pass the screen, turn your router off and give it a shot.

If that wouldn't work, then I am actually really sorry for you.

ok I tried to reset it via usb. The file in the link you sent is only 24,000k? Is that correct?

Anyway when I hit the Bind and eject buttons I get a startup beep, but not one a few seconds later, but only about 10 seconds later, then another 10 seconds after that. After trying a few times something started to happen, it said preparing console then
almost immediately gave me the e100 error. Which is why I asked if that tiny file was correct because you said I would need a USB drive with 5gb of space (im using a 64gb flash drive).

Finally got it to beep correctly and as soon as I let go of the buttons I got

Something went wrong

Thank you so much for taking the time to post this on the Xbox Forums.

In regards to this matter, I'm a bit inclined to ask if you tried to
reset your console via a USB?

If you are unable to reset the console using the normal methods provided by the troubleshooter, I would definitely recommend this.

You will have need to have two thing for you to take this path:

A Windows-based PC with an internet connection and a USB port
A USB flash drive with a minimum 5 GB of space formatted as NTFS

If you can give this a try, and let us know your results, we might be able to provide additional troubleshooting steps.
