something is very wrong with my Xbox

up until I turned on my Xbox about a few hours ago, everything worked perfectly, I went to launch borderlands 2 and pulled me right into the game, as I didn't exit the game the night before, so I turn it on today, and there were issues connecting to servers in-game, so I thought a quick restart would fix the problem. What happened instead was that my Xbox kept saying that the game too long to start, so I decided to restart my Xbox. after an hour waiting at a grey screen (not a black screen as the Xbox hadn't turned itself off yet) I decided to say "to hell with this" and unplugged the power cord, but accidentally unplugged my SeaGate 4tb hard drive (will come up again later) and just plugged it back in thinking nothing of it and proceeded to unplug the Xbox. I turn it back on and everything seems normal, except for one thing, my sync button won't work, when I press it, the light doesn't flash. I try plugging in my controller via USB, and the only thing that happened was my controller vibrating shortly showing that it's connected, but nothing else, the controller doesn't turn on, it doesn't try to connect, nothing. I end up fixing it after an hour trying everything in my power to fix it, but for some reason, plugging it into my laptop fixed my sync button problem for some random reason. So I thought "alright, this entire fiasco is over, let's chill out and play some Borderlands 2." I go to launch the game again, but this time it says that the game isn't installed, so I go to my games and apps and I see that NONE of my games are there (as I moved them all from my internal hard drive to my external hard drive) and I think to myself "alright, a console restart will probably fix this" so after a short restart, I finally get back to my home screen with no change, in fact, I go back to square 1 with the sync button issue, so I let my controller flash for a few minutes while I search for solutions, and I look back at my controller and see that it's connected... weird... but my hard drive problem still persists, and this is where I am now.

TL;DR issue: sync button not working, controller won't connect, and Xbox won't detect my hard drive.
