While I wait, I'm testing some things. I don't know if those apps are on iOS so I can't download and test it on my Xbox currently. So some settings I found you can try - test it again with your apps after changing these settings. This assuming you turned off the remote features as what was already suggested.

Settings > Devices and Connections > Remote Features

• Xbox App Preferences > Xbox App > Select Only from Profiles signed in on this console
  
• Xbox App Preferences > Xbox App > Make sure Allow Play to Streaming is disabled
  

Or you can press Y in the settings and search Smartglass Connections - it'll take you to that same page. Honestly I would try going full restriction - see if that works. If it stops you from connecting to the Xbox from a third party app. If not, let me know.

Worse to worse I think that with public connections - you can make them private using a networking solution of some kind. In college a good way some people used it without having to worry was with a travel router. You can get one for like 30/40 bucks for a quick solution. You can connect to the Wi-Fi of your network, set a password to the new connection and connect your Xbox and other devices to it without worrying about the person in your building.

Regardless, I will send this piece of feedback on consoles and hardware connection options to a team at Xbox and see if we can look into this issue.

2. No, it's a stranger from the same building I live in
   
3. Must be through an app, they joined with their redmi note 7 phone
   
4. Yes and I was already using 2FA before, it's irrelevant. I tried a few of these apps, they can connect without my password.
   
5. Yes, but they are not listed.
   
6. They only need to be on the same wifi network to connect as far as I know and I need an box one setting to stop this or require more.
