Someone essentially stole a Quantum Break game code from me, what can be done?

Hi

So, I was looking to trade a code I had for Quantum Break (Xbox One) on Reddit. Long story short, the other person deleted their Reddit account and didn't g through with their end of the bargain. I understand I took the risk and am not looking to get another
code for the game but was hoping something could be done to that person Xbox Live account. I know codes can be tracked to the account that they were used on so I was wondering if one of the following could happen:

A) the person who sued the code has Quantum Break blocked from their account

B) the persons account is completely blocked for doing what they did

I am kinda hoping for the persons entire account to be suspended as I feel like just having the game removed from their account isn't enough but anything that can be done is appreciated. Thanks!

Did not receive Quantum Break PreOrder Codes

I was told from support to post my situation here. I preordered Quantum Break from Xbox.com, but I have not received my Alan Wake code or Quantum Break PC code. Can someone please help me with this? I did receive my Alan Wake American Nightmare code.

Hi there, can you please tell us what game you're talking about? I think the only game that's given a Windows 10 code is Quantum Break?

If you are referring to Quantum Break are you sure the version you bought the version that entitled you to the W10 code? To be eligible customers had to pre-order the digital version of "Quantum Break" for Xbox One through the Xbox Store or for those who
redeemed a digital code purchased from participating retailers or from the Xbox One Special Edition Quantum Break Bundle by April 5, 2016.

If it's not QB, please let us know what game you are referring to.

 

If you know their gamertag you eould need to file a complaint on them via the console, but since this was down outside the Live service there's really nothing that can be done

 

Wouldn't Xbox be able to see what account the code was used in?

 

They could but there's nothing they can do with that information. If the conversation about trading the codes was done over Live, they could issue a ban (although both parties could be banned). Since the conversation was down outside of Live, there is nothing
they could do. It's essentially one person's word over another at that point.

 

Well I have the original email for when I got the code and I have the communications between me and the other person as to what the plan was and it shows he has deleted his account. Would that be enough information?

 

No. The enforcement team are the only ones who handle suspensions/bannings. In order to report someone to them, you have to file a complaint via the console and they can only issue a ban for something done via the Live service. Since the email did not take
place through Live, they would not be able to enforce anything.
