I own Time Pilot and Scramble. Both work correctly on Xbox 360 consoles and both are correctly identified as owned by me at the Xbox 360 store page for each game (Linked below is Time Pilot's page for an example).

Yet on my Xbox One, it wants me to pay $4.99 for each. Same issue occurs with the XB1/Series X/Series S store page for both games (Linked below is Time Pilot's page, for an example).

I'm not alone it seems. Here are examples of people having the same difficulty with both of these newly added backwards compatible games, along with a handful of other titles like Cloning Clyde. So it's not a local issue or one that will be resolved by recovering my gamertag. It's an issue at Microsoft's end.

I have the same issue with Scramble , Time Pilot , Screwjumper , Switchball , Novadrome and Elements of destruction. All telling me to BUY when I already own them. Screwjumper says it is not available. Same problem maybe with Cloning Clyde but was free on the 1st day of they became backwards compatible. I had the same issue with Dead Space Ignition that was never resolved although I can play that on EA play. I know you can re-install them on 360 through settings - account - download history (if you scroll down) but these should be on my ready to install list.

Backwards Compatible Xbox Originals - I am a bit confused

For what it's worth, I purchased Psychonauts digitally back when Microsoft was actively promoting the Xbox Originals line on the Xbox 360 back in the late 2000's. And when it joined the backwards compatibility list years later for the Xbox One, my purchase was correctly recognized and it continues to work to this day.

The way it's supposed to work is that original Xbox downloads purchased on the Xbox 360 store that are also on the XB1/Series systems backwards compatibility list, are supposed to be recognized and honored on the Xbox One and Series systems.

And it's also supposed to work in reverse where an original Xbox purchase made on a newer Xbox platform is to be recognized and honored on the Xbox 360 (With the caveat that this latest and final round of backwards compatibility additions for the first time included several original Xbox games that weren't on the Xbox 360 BC list and thus aren't 360 compatible).

Something's screwy at Microsoft's end in recent weeks. Purchase licenses for cross-compatible titles aren't always being correctly shared between the Xbox 360 storefront and the XB1/Series systems storefront.

There's not an obvious pattern to these issues, either, which might prove to be problematic if they ever try to fix it. For instance four of my old XBLA purchases made it with this last round of BC additions and of those, two of my purchases were correctly recognized on my Xbox One (With Scramble and Time Pilot not recognized as being owned by me on my XB1).

Yet a buddy that has owned both as long as I have had his old purchase of Scramble recognized on his Series S and was able to download and install it fine, with only Time Pilot not correctly recognized as owned.

Some recent backwards compatible Xbox 360 downloads don't correctly recognize ownership on Xbox One and Series X/S consoles.

Of my two problematic games, I rebought Time Pilot back in January and last checked to see if Scramble was correctly recognizing my ownership back in February. Fast forward to today when I logged onto my Xbox One for the first time in several weeks and suddenly Scramble is showing as ready to install.

Not speedy service (And I'm out $5, lol), but I'm glad to see it apparently got rectified at long last. Was never really an annoyance about the money in my case since they're both $5 downloads, but nice just the same to see it now working how it should.

Hopefully everyone's problem games are now also fixed. Especially for those of you that couldn't as cheaply rectify the issue as I could.

Several days ago, I attempted to download Time Pilot again and it worked! Thanks to the community for bringing awareness to the issue, and thanks to the team responsible for resolving the issue.

Yesterday when starting my XBox Series X I got a notification that Time Pilot is ready to be started. I had it installed previously, but couldn't play it (see above).

Because of the notification I tried to start it again and now it works!! I can start and play Time Pilot now on the XBox Series X and the problem is fixed for me.

Maybe the problem is fixed for the other games too. Please check them.

Thank you Microsoft for solving at least the Time Pilot problem 🙂👍

Same here with Time Pilot - Scramble is affected in the same way as well.

The games show as purchased in my purchase history, they work on my Xbox 360, but they do not appear in my ready to install list and going to the store results in them showing as needing to be repurchased.
