    SOLVED* - How to record game & party chat using upload studio


    Welcome everyone! Recently I have seen a lot of people on forums everywhere stating Why doesn't the Xbox dvr record game or party chat. Even as i write this now it still hasn't changed or been updated, so I made a tutorial on how you can record both game
    and party chat as well as live commentary using upload studio and iMovie. I will leave a link to this video below so it can hopefully help those who are still stuck! ✌️

    Recording Xbox 360 Games using Upload Studio?

    Using the HDMI Passthrough on the Xbox One are we allowed to record Xbox 360 Games using Upload Studio?

    Can Xbox One Game DVR record chat sounds?

    Hey so Ive been trying to figure out how to do this for a while because im sure as alot of people know, its much better to be able to record a commentary rather than a voice over after recording. Upload studio supports voice overs which up till now ive been
    using but I cant figure out why microphone chat does not get recorded by the game DVR. If someone knows how to do this that would be great.

    Some info, im using the Xbox one Without the Kinect, and ive tried using skype with another account, party chat, and also in game chat. If anyone has gotten this to work please let me know!

    Hey Jason!

    Thanks for reaching out to us today. Game clips on Xbox are recorded, edited, and shared from the Game DVR feature associated to the Upload Studio app. The Upload Studio app is the only way to upload and share clips that you recorded from Xbox or Xbox on
    Windows 10.

    As of right now, I don't think there is a way to convert or transfer your recorded files that are captured using your internal graphics card. All clips are captured using the Game DVR feature and then edited and shared from Upload Studio.

    Hi,

    Am I correct in assuming that you want to be able to capture yourself speaking in a party? If so, for safety and privacy reasons, it is not possible to capture Xbox Live Party chat audio.

    If you just want to add your voice to a game clip, you can do so by recording a voice-over in the Upload Studio.

    1. No, it does not record party chat. But there is an Xbox Feedback post that you can vote on to help this feature get attention:

    2. No, you cannot record your face within a DVR clip. You can broadcast with Twitch and you have the option to broadcast your Kinect within the game window, so you could download the clip from Twitch to accomplish this. You also have the option of opening
    your game DVR clips in Upload Studio and adding a Kinect windows there as well.

    3. See #2.

    4. You do not need a Kinect to record. If you do not have a Kinect instead of saying "Xbox, record that" you'll simple double-tap the Xbox button on your control then press X to record.

    Yeah,if you are using a capture device you could set it up to record party chat on the 360.

    Not sure how you did it as I've never used them but I did once have to get someone to edit a video they uploaded to youtube as they recorded my voice without asking.
