Solved! A Solution for OSU on Xbox one X fail problem, for hdd replacement and upgrade.

No, they are not updated. That’s the point. We have the 7196 version and that OSU files are for the 7194. That means that when we try to do the offline upgrade process, it fails because our Xbox is in a higher version than the one that we are trying to
install.

The same process but with the updated OSU files should solve our problems.

Unfortunately HDD's fail eventually, it's usually a question of when and not if they will fail. The good news is that you will be able to redownload your games from your purchase history if all are still available in the MS Store after you replace the HDD.

If the troubleshooting link that Erick left you confirms that your HDD is defective then unfortunately you will need to have it replaced. You will have to decide which method is most cost effective for your budget (warranty if available is usually first
preferred, new HDD to minimize costs, or replace console with newer one or upgrade to Xbox One is the highest cost option). Buying a new console can sometimes be a cost effective replacement especially if you also need a new controller etc (eg if your old
controller has stick drift problems etc).

Actually that doesnt work either... my x is bricked due to a faulty hdd. I changed the hdd with a working one. Could not get osu to work i then cloned the one s hdd on the same insider preview overwritten the files in the a and b folders in the x:\ drive
of the new hdd same thing happens.... still thinks the version on the nand is superior to the one on hard drive... lost 3 nights trying to figure it out. Im at the point of using a hex editor and try to change the update parameters on the a/b folder systemupdate.vxd
to trick it into thinking its a newer osu? Its really a **** move of microsoft not providing the insider preview osu to insiders. Btw i was able to remove the x from insider preview but there should be a online check for insider preview recovery if they cant
provide us with the osu to get us back going again. This is unacceptable im kot the only one and is extremley fustratng that m$ wants $100 usd for something i could fix myself in a few minutes with the right osu....

Well no as you installed an unauthorized hdd

You can't replace.hdds.the osu is not for rewriting hdds and wr can't help with self rrpair

Your only option is to use the OG hdd

Since you can't buy an xbox one x new you have to deal with the seller for repair since xbox ones are no longer covered by warranty

Hey Gary, I’ve also been having this problem for the last year. I had an Xbox one and recently upgraded to the series x in hopes of this issue being solved but it still remains. Please let me know if you’ve found a solution.
